What is the eagaSEAL® flexible PVC compound range?

eagaSEAL® is Eagley Plastics’ branded range of flexible PVC compounds, manufactured for use in the extrusion of window profile gaskets. Unlike general-purpose flexible PVC compounds, every grade within the eagaSEAL® range has been specifically formulated to meet the demanding mechanical and durability requirements that gasket service imposes.

The range sits alongside eagaFLEX®, our broader flexible PVC compound range for extrusion and injection moulding, and eagaVIN®, our rigid PVC compound range. Where eagaFLEX® covers the full spectrum of flexible PVC applications, eagaSEAL® is a focused, technically specified offering for customers who need compounds proven in gasket and sealing service.

All eagaSEAL® compounds are formulated and manufactured in-house at Eagley Plastics’ facility in the High Peak, Derbyshire, giving full control over formulation, quality and lead times.

Static gasket compounds: weather sealing for glazing units

Static gaskets perform a critical role in modern window systems, providing the weather seal between a glazing unit and the surrounding profile. Once fitted, a static gasket remains under sustained compression for the life of the window, and its performance depends on maintaining an effective seal over that extended period.

The eagaSEAL® static gasket compounds are formulated to achieve low compression set values, meaning the material retains its sealing force even after long-term compression. Hardness is available across a range of BS softness values to suit the profile geometry and the compression level required in the installed position. Specific gravity can also be targeted to meet weight or processing requirements.

Dynamic gasket compounds: performance through repeated open and close cycles

Dynamic gaskets are subject to a fundamentally different loading regime to static gaskets. Applied to doors and opening windows, a dynamic gasket is compressed and released with every cycle of use. Over the service life of a window or door, this can represent tens of thousands of compression and recovery events.

The eagaSEAL® dynamic gasket compounds are formulated with dynamic recovery as the primary performance criterion, ensuring the material rebounds effectively after each compression cycle and continues to provide a reliable weather seal throughout the life of the product. This requires careful balancing of plasticiser selection, polymer grade and specialty additives to maintain consistent physical properties over time and across varying temperature conditions.

Compound customisation within the eagaSEAL® range

All eagaSEAL® compounds can be tailored to specific performance requirements. The range is available across a full spectrum of BS softness values and SG targets, and each grade can be enhanced with additive packages to meet particular application demands.

Formulation options within the eagaSEAL® range include:

What is the eagaFLEX® flexible PVC compound range?

eagaFLEX® is Eagley Plastics’ branded range of flexible PVC compounds, manufactured for use across the plastic extrusion and injection moulding sectors. Also known as plasticised PVC, flexible PVC is one of the most versatile thermoplastic materials available, capable of being formulated across a wide spectrum of hardness, density and physical properties to suit virtually any end-use requirement.

The eagaFLEX® range has been developed to cover both extrusion and injection moulding processing routes, giving customers access to a single, consistent compound brand regardless of their manufacturing method. Every grade within the range is compounded in-house at Eagley Plastics’ 94,000 sq.ft. facility in the High Peak, Derbyshire, giving full control over formulation, quality and lead times.

eagaFLEX® extrusion compounds: profiles, cables, hoses and tubing

The extrusion side of the eagaFLEX® range covers a broad set of applications. General-purpose flexible PVC profiles represent the core of the offering, but the range extends into more technically demanding areas including cable sheathing and insulation compounds, industrial & domestic hose, precision tubing for medical, pneumatic & fluid-transfer applications, and umbilical filler profiles. We also have a specific range of flexible PVC compounds for gaskets and seals under our eagaSEAL® range of compounds.

Flexible PVC extrusion compounds require careful balancing of plasticiser content, stabiliser systems and other speciality additives to achieve the right combination of softness, surface finish and long-term performance. The eagaFLEX® range is formulated with this balance in mind, drawing on Eagley Plastics’ deep experience in PVC compounding and technical trade extrusion.

eagaFLEX® injection moulding compounds: footwear, grommets and beyond

The injection moulding side of the eagaFLEX® range has been developed for applications where flexible PVC is processed into discrete moulded components. Footwear is a significant market for flexible PVC moulding compounds, where material consistency, colourant dispersion and surface appearance are critical to the finished product.

Beyond footwear, eagaFLEX® injection moulding grades are used in the manufacture of grommets & bushings, cable insulation accessories, protective caps and covers, medical tubing accessories & masks, and a wide variety of general-purpose moulded parts. Wherever a soft, durable and chemically resistant thermoplastic component is needed, there is likely an eagaFLEX® grade to suit.

eagaFLEX® customisation: your specification, our formulation

One of the defining features of the eagaFLEX® range is the degree of customisation available. Every compound can be formulated to a specific colour or crystal tint, matched to a target specific gravity, and enhanced with additives to meet particular technical requirements.

This means eagaFLEX® compounds can be tailored for fire performance where flame retardancy is critical, for oil and fuel resistance in automotive or industrial environments, for anti-fungal properties in applications exposed to moisture and biological growth, and for a range of other specialist criteria. If there is a performance characteristic your application demands, the chances are we can formulate an eagaFLEX® grade to meet it.

Our eagaFLEX® extrusion and injection moulding compounds can be formulated for key properties such as:

Shore A
SG
Surface finish
Clarity
Tint
Colour
Antifungal & Antimicrobial
Oil, Fuel, Fat and Acid resistance
UV resistance

Eagley Plastics has registered eagaVIN®, formally protecting its rigid PVC compound range developed for plastic extrusion profiles, pipe, conduit, window systems, sheet and injection moulding applications.

What is the eagaVIN® rigid PVC compound range?

eagaVIN® is Eagley Plastics’ branded range of rigid PVC compounds, manufactured for use across plastic extrusion and injection moulding sectors. The range has been developed to cover the full spectrum of rigid PVC processing requirements, from standard general-purpose extrusion grades through to technically specified compounds for demanding end-use applications.

The trademark registration reflects Eagley Plastics’ commitment to the range as a defined, long-term product offering, giving plastics processors and specifiers confidence in the continuity and traceability of the compounds they purchase.

Rigid PVC extrusion compounds

The eagaVIN® extrusion grades are formulated for a wide range of rigid PVC profile extrusion and pipe extrusion applications common in the construction and building products sector. These include general-purpose extrusion profiles, uPVC window and door systems, electrical conduit and cable management trunking, rigid PVC pipe, flat sheet, and furniture edging strip.

Skin and Capstock grades extend the range into multilayer extrusion, supporting roofing sheet products and multilayer pipe systems where co-extrusion processing is used.

Injection moulding grades for building products and fittings

Alongside the extrusion range, eagaVIN® injection moulding compounds are used across a range of rigid PVC building products, including trunking and conduit accessories, pipe fittings, connectors, and bottles. These grades can have their formulation optimised to improve performance such as vicat softening temperature and lower viscosity for easy-flow grades.

Custom compound specification

A key capability within the eagaVIN® range is compound customisation. All grades can be produced to specific colour requirements or crystal tint finishes, tailored to precise specific gravity (SG) targets, and enhanced with functional additive packages. Available additive options include impact modifiers, fire retardant additives, anti-fungal treatments, and other performance modifications relevant to the end application.

For plastics processors needing a rigid PVC compound specified to their exact requirements, eagaVIN® is designed to be the starting point for that conversation. This level of compound flexibility is particularly relevant for plastic profile extruders and injection moulders working in regulated sectors such as construction, electrical installation, and building services, where specific fire performance ratings or mechanical properties may be required by BS or EN standards.

If you’re sourcing rigid PVC compounds for extrusion or injection moulding, Eagley Plastics can discuss your technical requirements directly. Custom colours, SG targets, and additive packages are all available within the eagaVIN® range.
